I can see Inuyama Castle from my balcony, but the view is only the beginning. Between Japanese breakfasts, colourful dinners and a room with a sense of humour, this has become my personal IHG benchmark in Japan. バルコニーから見える犬山城。でも、このホテルの魅力は眺めだけではありません。和朝食、彩り豊かなディナー、遊び心のある客室。日本で泊まったIHGホテルを考えるとき、私の基準になる一軒です。

A castle in the everyday view滞在の景色に、犬山城
From my balcony, I have the Kiso River, green trees and Inuyama Castle in the same view. Standing there in a yukata, I do not need to set off sightseeing to feel connected to the town. The castle is already part of my stay.浴衣でバルコニーに出ると、木曽川と木々、その向こうの犬山城がひとつの景色に収まります。観光に出かける前から、この町に来た実感がある。私にとって、お城の眺めも滞在の一部でした。
The covered garden approach adds another side to the setting. Even the rainy arrival photographs have something to linger over: sheltered paths, planting and the transition into the hotel. There is plenty here for a camera without needing blue skies in every frame.屋根付きの庭園アプローチには、また違った表情があります。雨の日の写真にも、通路や植栽、ホテルへ入っていくまでの景色が残りました。いつも青空でなくても、カメラを向けたくなる場所があるのはうれしいですね。

A room with its own personality客室にも、犬山らしい個性
My room carries that sense of place indoors through an illustrated wall, patterned cushions and contrasting colours. I have as much to photograph inside as I do beyond the balcony. It is a room with personality, rather than a neutral backdrop to the trip.客室では、壁のイラストや柄のあるクッション、色の組み合わせに目が向きました。バルコニーの外だけでなく、部屋の中にもカメラを向けたくなる場所があります。旅の背景に収まらない、個性のある部屋でした。
The celebration in the room—with cakes, gifts and a very happy face—adds a more personal memory. It is also a useful reminder when planning a special occasion: ask about any arrangements you want and their cost. The celebration shown here should not be read as an amenity included with every booking.ケーキや贈り物を前に笑顔になった、客室でのお祝いも思い出の一つ。記念日の旅行なら、希望する手配と料金を事前に相談しておくとよさそうです。写真のお祝い内容が、すべての宿泊プランに付くわけではありません。

Breakfast deserves its own plan朝食も、旅の楽しみに
My Japanese breakfast arrives as a collection of small dishes: grilled fish, rice, soup, egg and side dishes in their own bowls. I would leave a proper morning for this table. There is more to enjoy here than a quick meal before checkout.和朝食では、焼き魚、ご飯、汁物、卵料理、小鉢が食卓に並びました。一皿ずつ眺めながら食べる時間も、この滞在の楽しみです。チェックアウト前に急いで済ませるのは、もったいないと思います。
The Western breakfasts offer a different direction, including eggs Benedict and a colourful plate with ham, vegetables and a golden baked centrepiece. Fruit adds another finish. Japanese or Western? My camera roll appears to have voted for both.洋朝食の写真にはエッグベネディクトや、ハム、野菜、こんがり焼かれた一品を盛り合わせたプレートも。フルーツまで含めて、朝の楽しみが広がります。和食か洋食か。カメラロールを見る限り、答えは「どちらも」だったようです。

Dinner becomes an occasion夕食は、一皿ずつ楽しむ時間
My dinner photographs follow small starters and pâté through soup, lobster with asparagus and mushrooms, and a sliced meat course. I have kept the dishes in the story because the table deserves as much attention as the room. For a course dinner, I would leave the evening open instead of booking something immediately afterwards.ディナーでは、小さな前菜やパテからスープ、アスパラガスときのこを添えたロブスター、肉料理へと食卓が変わりました。部屋と同じくらい、食事にも時間を使いたい滞在です。コースを楽しむ夜は、その後の予定を詰め込まないようにしたいと思います。
For planning, the hotel's restaurant is Indigo Home Kitchen Yamateras, whose current menus draw on seasonal ingredients from Aichi and Gifu. Check the menu for your dates rather than expecting the exact dishes in my photographs. I would give a course dinner an evening of its own.ホテル内のレストランは「インディゴホームキッチン車山照」。現在の公式案内では、愛知・岐阜の旬の食材を取り入れています。写真と同じ料理が出るとは限らないので、訪問時のメニューを確認してみてください。コースを楽しむなら、夕食そのものを夜の予定にしたいですね。

The little moments count小さな時間も、思い出になる
Between the larger meals, I also had fruit by the garden window and small cakes with a drink. These quieter pauses belong in my review alongside the celebration and dinner. A short escape does not need every hour to be a highlight.しっかりした食事の合間には、庭を眺めながら果物を食べたり、飲み物と小さなケーキを楽しんだりしました。お祝いとディナーだけでなく、こうした静かな時間も私の滞在記には欠かせません。短い旅でも、毎時間をイベントにする必要はないと思います。
I would plan this as a short escape with room to linger: explore Inuyama, then leave time to enjoy the hotel itself. For a celebration, a design-focused stay or a trip built around food and photographs, that balance is the attraction.犬山を散策したら、ホテルに戻ってゆっくりする時間も残しておく。私なら、そんな小旅行として計画します。お祝い、デザインを楽しむ滞在、食と写真を中心にした旅にも、このバランスが魅力です。

Spend on what matters to you自分の楽しみに合わせて選ぶ
If I were booking again for the castle, I would make the view category my first check. The hotel offers different room outlooks; the balcony in my photographs records my experience, not the view from every room.お城の眺めを目的にもう一度予約するなら、私はまず客室の眺望カテゴリーを確認します。部屋によって向きが違うので、写真のバルコニーは私の滞在例として見てください。どの部屋からも同じ景色が見えるわけではありません。
Next, compare room-only and meal-inclusive totals for the same dates and cancellation terms. A dinner package makes sense when that meal is already part of the plan; a breakfast-inclusive stay leaves more freedom to eat around town later. There is no published nightly price for this stay, so my recommendation rests on the experience. Whether a particular offer is good value depends on its actual total and your plans.次に、同じ日程とキャンセル条件で、素泊まりと食事付きの総額を比較。夕食もホテルで楽しむなら夕朝食付き、夜は街で食べたいなら朝食付き、と予定に合わせて選べます。今回の宿泊料金は記事に掲載していないため、評価は体験に基づくもの。お得かどうかは、実際の総額と旅の過ごし方で判断したいですね。

Inuyama works well without a car, but driving is convenient if this stay is part of a wider Aichi or Gifu trip. Check live schedules and road conditions before leaving.犬山は公共交通でも訪れやすい場所ですが、愛知・岐阜を周遊する旅なら車も便利です。出発前に最新の時刻表と道路状況をご確認ください。
