My arrival took me from the hotel's sail-shaped exterior into a broad lobby with a sweeping staircase. The style is grand and established, rather than designed around the latest trend. I would choose it for its connection to the waterfront as much as its interiors.帆の形の外観から中へ入ると、広いロビーと大きな階段が迎えてくれました。新しさを競うというより、落ち着いた大きなホテルの雰囲気です。私なら内装だけでなく、水辺とのつながりも理由に選びます。

Comfortable, classic—and built around the viewクラシックな心地よさと、景色を主役にした客室

In my room, two armchairs and a table gave the window a proper place in the stay. Dark wood and blue upholstery kept the setting classic. I could sit with the view, rather than catch it only in passing from the bed.私の客室では、窓辺のアームチェア2脚とテーブルが、景色を楽しむ場所になっていました。濃い木の色と青い張地を合わせた、クラシックな雰囲気です。ベッドから眺めるだけでなく、腰を下ろして窓の外を見る時間を持てました。

The room changes with the light時間とともに表情を変える窓

I photographed the working harbour in daylight, with ships, piers and Bay Bridge in the distance. After dark, lights and reflections took over the same view. I would leave time to see both before deciding the room was simply a place to sleep.昼には、船や桟橋、その向こうのベイブリッジを撮影しました。暗くなると、同じ窓の景色を灯りと反射が彩ります。ただ眠るための部屋にしてしまう前に、昼と夜の両方を見る時間を残したいと思います。

City lights or open harbour?街の光か、広い港か

The Minato Mirai side brings colour, movement and Cosmo Clock 21. The harbour side trades that energy for open water, ships and the long line of the bridge. Neither is automatically better; choose the atmosphere you want, then enjoy how dramatically it changes between afternoon and midnight.みなとみらい側はコスモクロック21と街の光が華やか。港側は広い海、船、橋の長いラインがつくる静かな景色です。どちらが上というより、好みの雰囲気で選び、午後から深夜まで変化する表情を楽しむホテルです。

An afternoon tea with a sense of place横浜らしい景色を味わうアフタヌーンティー

My afternoon tea brought sandwiches, savouries, scones and sweets to the table while the waterfront stayed in view. I have given it a separate dining story because it deserves more than a passing mention in the hotel review. It is one way I would build a slower afternoon into a Yokohama trip.アフタヌーンティーでは、水辺を眺めながらサンドイッチやセイボリー、スコーン、スイーツを楽しみました。宿泊記の一言で終わらせたくないので、食事の記事も別にまとめています。横浜の旅にゆっくりした午後を入れるなら、私ならこうした時間を選びます。

Leave time to slow downあえて、何もしない時間を

The wellness area gave us an easy pause after being out in the city. Access conditions, fees and operating hours can depend on your room plan and the current hotel policy, so check before packing swimwear rather than assuming every facility is included.街を歩いた後、ウェルネスエリアで過ごす時間がちょうどよい休憩になりました。利用条件、料金、営業時間は客室プランやホテルの最新方針で変わる場合があります。水着を用意する前に確認しておくと安心です。
